Who am I, even?

Hello, out there.

Hi. I’m Shirley.

I started my career in advertising and copywriting at Creature, then wound my way around some legend-level Seattle shops, like Wexley School for Girls, before making my way into branding and creative strategy at Hornall Anderson and exploring the tech side at Facebook. Here and there, I’ve shared what I’ve learned along the way at places like the School of Visual Concepts and gatherings like Creative Mornings. Now I play with flowers and beautiful things at Glasswing, and get faces glowing (ethically and eco-consciously) at Circumference.

I also once moved to Bali to help launch a permaculture cooking school in a remote mountain village called New Earth Cooking. That was a wild time.

I like uncovering the soul of things; the process of learning a thing’s essential spirit, its core truth. Its unlike-anything-else-ness, and its interconnectedness.

And I love the constant search to find ways to express this evolving understanding — the neverending birthing of ideas that drives the creative expansion of this amazing, crazy universe. That’s what I’m into. That’s my jam.

Beginning from a sound strategic foundation to build strong, creative concepts, I support intentional innovators, companies, brands and humans who care deeply, think positively, and aim to do well by our planet and each other.
